- History of migration: study of the history of Slovenian emigration in Canada, study of the history of forced migration in Slovenia in the 20th century (refugees, exiles, internment), study of immigration to Slovenia after 1960, study of migration using biographical and micro-historical methods.
- Labour history: analysis of the tobacco factory in Ljubljana, with emphasis on its workers, in parallel with the study of other tobacco factories and labour history in general.
- Oral history: theory and methodology of oral history, use of oral history in particular in the fields of migration history and women's history.
- Women's history: research on migrants, refugees, internees, women in war, women in the war and post-war economy, case studies using biographical and micro-historical methods, women's newspapers.
- Biographical studies: dealing with personal narratives (ego-documents) and their translation into a biographical record with a historical context.
